I've been on and off with a Leo for years now. Sometimes he's really into me, but then he just seems to get bored and kind of drifts off. But no matter what, he always seems to find himself with me again. Could there be any meaning with this? With the whole Pisces/Leo dynamic. (Yes, I'm a Pisces.)

Well, I am inclined to think it might have to do with the dynamics. I don’t mean to insinuate that Leo’s are somehow disloyal individuals— but I do think fire signs in general require a type of “excitement” in their relationships. Generally, what they seek can’t be found in a water sign (except maybe scorpio; but even then, I’d be willing to bet it’s still turn out to be a short-fling type of thing). And perhaps he really is, simply, getting a bit bored and leaving. :c Because there’s a lack of that excitement he craves. I think there’s a certain attractiveness in the way a Pisces tends to be caring and giving that appeals to the almost maternal nature of a Leo (er, I understand he’s a male, but I always relate Leo’s to being very motherly in the sense that they have a capacity to be very nurturing). Also, Leo’s love attention, and a Pisces can certainly provide it, which seems welcoming. I wonder if that’s why he returns?  At least, astrologically speaking. There could certainly be other aspects, of course, as I’m sure there are.

Sorry again with the questions, but I am slightly confused. Does the moon overpower the sun sign? 'Cause my moon is in Aquarius and my sun is in Pisces, does that mean I act more like an Aquarius?

Well, I recently read that if a “Moon sign is in a water sign, like Pisces, Cancer, or Scorpio, it might overpower the Sun Sign,” but as a rule of thumb? Post people relate more to their Sun Sign. I keep seeing that people define Sun Sign as “what rules the head,” and Moon Sign as “what rules the heart.” So if a Moon Sign is in one of those emotional water signs… I suppose it makes sense to have it out-shine the Sun Sign? But in your case? I dunno? My Moon is in Gemini, and Aquarius and Gemini are both Air— and I certainly feel more in-tune with my Pisces Sun. c: Does that answer your question/clarify what I meant in my previous post? [/assuming that’s where the confusion came from]

WANT TO KNOW YOUR MOON SIGN?

all right, so i’m setting up my queue to post some Lunar Pisces/Moon In Pisces posts! At the moment, I don’t plan to make posts for all the other moon signs; I’ve only decided to make Moon In Pisces posts because it’s a Pisces blog, and a lot of people who have a Moon in Pisces tend to relate more to their moon sign than their sun sign. c: (unless their sun sign is in pisces, too, I guess!)

If you missed the explanation of moon sign, look here!

“Things you know without thought - intuitions, hunches, instincts - are the products of the Moon. Modes of expression that you feel are truly your deepest self belong to the Moon: art, letters, creative work of any kind; sometimes love; sometimes business. Whatever you feel is most deeply yourself, whether or not you are able to do anything about it in the outer world, is the product of your Moon and of the sign your Moon occupies at birth.”—Grant Lewi || Astrology for the Millions

The Moon

The Moon, in Astrology, represents our deepest personal needs, our basic habits and reactions, and our unconscious.

Where the Sun acts, the Moon reacts. How do we instinctively react or respond to problems? What do we feel we need for a sense of security? Look to the Moon in your natal chart for answers.

The Moon is associated with the mother and with feminine energy in general. The Moon is both our inner child and our inner mother. It is responsive, receptive, and reflective. The Moon is our spontaneous and instinctual reactions.

Just as the Moon circles the Sun, in a symbolically protective manner, and reflects the Sun’s light, the Moon in our chart shows how we protect ourselves, as well as make ourselves feel secure, comfortable, and safe.

We can also think of the Moon as that which gives us animation. It rules rhythmic ebb and flow of activity and energy. The Moon is a mediator between the inner world and the outer world. While the Sun is rational, the Moon is irrational. Habitual behaviors and prejudices are ruled by the Moon. Prejudices may not be acted out, as our Sun may censor them, but the Moon rules our spontaneous reactions and feelings.

For some of us, our Moons seem to drive our personalities more than the Sun does. This is particularly true if the Moon is in a water sign (Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces), or if it is conjunct an angle in the chart (near the Ascendant, Descendant, 4th house cusp, or 10th house cusp).

With respect to the other luminary (the Sun), the Moon infuses the past into our lives through the feelings, while the Sun reflects the present or the “here and now”.

When we are “acting out” our Moon, we are imaginative, creative, intuitive, sentimental, adaptable, introspective, and protective. On the negative side, we can be moody, restless, and irrational.

In the natal chart, the position of the Moon by sign shows how we emote and respond to our environment, as well as our instinctual habits, especially in our homes and in private. By house, the Moon’s position shows which areas of life we feel the most “at home” or comfortable.

Take a closer look at the Moon's glyph, or symbol.

The Moon’s glyph resembles the Moon itself when it is a crescent shape. The crescent shows reception, and the Moon is a lens that focuses the light of the Sun.

“You may think, dream, imagine, hope to be a thousand things, according to your Moon and your other planets: but the Sun is what you are, and to be your best self in terms of your Sun is to cause your energies to work along the path in which they will have maximum help from planetary vibrations.”—Grant Lewi || Astrology for the Millions

The Sun

The Sun, the giver of life, represents our conscious mind in Astrology. It represents our will to live and our creative life force.

Just as the planets revolve around the Sun in our solar system, we derive our life purpose from the Sun in our natal charts. The Sun is our ego. It is also our “adult”– the part of us that censors our “inner child”, that reasons things out, and makes final decisions. The Sun is our basic identity, and represents self-realization.  When you are asked, “Who are you?”, and you’ve passed your basic statistics and occupation, your answers will be a description of your Sun. The Sun also represents our overall vitality. The Sun directs us, and can be considered “the boss” of our chart.

The Sun is so important in the chart, that the happiest people on this earth are those who identify (without over-identifying) with the Sun’s expression. Though one might think that the traits of their Sun would come easy to them, the truth is, the Sun shows what we are learning to be. It is very important to remember that the Sun represents reason as opposed to instinct.

With respect to the other luminary (the Moon), the Sun reflects the present or the “here and now”, while the Moon infuses the past into our lives through the feelings.

When we are “acting out” our Sun, we are purposeful, directed, proud, and creative. On the negative side, we can be haughty, overly willful, self-centered, and judgmental.

In the chart, the position of the Sun by zodiac sign represents the native’s life purpose and the style in which they leave their mark in the world. By house, the Sun’s position shows where our personalities shine. The areas of life associated with that house reveal the types of experiences which contribute to our sense of individuality and which shape our sense of pride. These areas of life are ones in which we seek to express and focus our Sun sign qualities.

Take a closer look at the Sun's

glyph, or symbol. It shows the circle of Spirit, indicating potentiality, brought to focus in the central point or dot.

The Ascendant

The Ascendant (also known the “rising sign”) is the sign on the cusp of the first house of the natal chart. It is the sign (and degree of that sign) that is rising on the Eastern horizon at the moment of birth, with respect to the place of birth.

The Ascendant defines, in part, the first impression we make on others in a personal rather than professional sense. It represents our physical appearance, our physical bodies and overall health, and the body ego. The Ascendant is often referred to as the mask we wear, although I don’t consider it to be as superficial as this might suggest. What it does represent is our natural and personal defense mechanisms that we use to adapt to, and cope with, our environment.

The Ascendant also shows our first impressions of the world around us, and reveals our expectations of the world around us–whether we are naturally hesitant or enthusiastic, for example. How we begin new projects, and our attitude towards new experiences come under the rule of the Ascendant.

I've added an "Astrology 101" section.

I’ll be making posts that I probably should’ve made a while back now, too. Posts that will answer “What’s a moon sign?” & “What’s a sun sign” & “What’s an ascendant sign?” You know, some basic terminology that I use a lot. c: Also, I’ll be going through older posts to see if I’ve posted anything that ought to be sorted into my new “Astrology 101” section.

Neptune

Neptune, God of the Sea, is the ruler of Pisces. In astrology, Neptune is considered a planet of inspiration, dreams, psychic receptivity, illusion, and confusion. Neptune rules spirituality, and all things subtle. A youthful, and sometimes naive, spirit characterizes those with a strong placement of Neptune in their natal charts.

On the up side, Neptune is associated with intuition and spiritual enlightenment. As well, it is a planet of mercy and compassion. The more negative manifestations of Neptune include deception, trickery, deceit, guilt, and addiction.

In the chart, the position of Neptune by sign will be shared with other people in the same generation due to Neptune’s slow movement in the heavens. By house, Neptune’s position shows where intuition, dreams, and psychic sensitivity come into play. Natives may be able to rise above the demands of the ego in the areas of Neptune’s influence.

Planets that Neptune contact are often colored by fantasy and dreaminess, and a vulnerable nature that may be susceptible to disillusionment. Here, we find hope that is sometimes unrealistic, a poetic and intuitive outlook, and compassion.

Neptune’s glyph resembles the trident that the god Poseidon is often shown holding. The crescent, representing receptivity, is pointing upwards, indicating spiritual receptivity, and is placed above the cross of matter. This symbolizes the yearning of the soul to break free from the restrictions and limitations of matter/reality.

Hey, Pisces! I have a question for you.

Are there any characters— in literature, anime, comics, video games, anything at all— that you feel you really relate to? I’m curious. c: You don’t have to explain why, unless you’d like to. I’d love to hear it! So, are there any characters you really feel you relate to?

This is just a personal post because I don’t have anywhere else to nerd-out about it, so feel absolutely free to completely ignore me. Haha.

On Sun Signs & Moon Signs:

So, recently, I saw someone define the difference of “sun” and “moon” sign as “sun rules your head/mind,” and “moon rules your heart.” This got me thinking a little, and sort of made me laugh! My moon sign is Gemini, which commonly represents logic… but doesn’t logic correlate with the mind? And Pisces— we’re so emotional! Doesn’t that parallel the heart? Haha. I’m a walking contradiction. c: But, wait, that’s a Pisces trait, too! (And a bit of a Gemini trait, if I’m not mistaken)

On Decans:

So, my birthday is/was on March 2. And, well, as you may’ve seen— I’ve been doing some decan posts, right? And, well, the transition date a lot of sources say from Pisces I into Pisces II say is March 2. I personally identify with each, of course (I think a lot of us probably see parts of ourself in each decan, after all). But, more specifically, they a lot of sites/books also specify degrees of Pisces decans. So, out of curiosity, I looked into my specific sun degree for my birthday, considering the year I was born— it’s 12°Pisces. And, For Pisces I, the degrees are “Approximately 3° - 12° Pisces” and for Pisces I, the degrees are “Approximately 11° - 21° Pisces."

I couldn’t help but laugh! I’m such a nerd. I’m literally smack dab in the middle of both decans.

Pisces Decans

IN OTHER WORDS: REPLYING TO THE MESSAGES IN MY INBOX

Which decan or cusp do you fall into? Find your post here.

So, I’ve gotten a few messages asking me about my most recent posts. I was hoping this wouldn’t be too much of a problem, but I realize I probably need to reorganize my blog a little to make this information a little more apparent? It is already there, but I understand that it might not be so obvious? And, perhaps, I ought to have made a post like this before making cusp & decan posts. I’ll make a note of that in the future. c:

So, everyone is born under a sun sign, right? Whether it be Pisces, Aries, Taurus, etc. Each sign is further divided into three sections— ten days per section. These subdivisions are known as “decans.” So, when I was using, “Pisces I,” “Pisces II,” and “Pisces III,” that was referring to the three decans. Each decan has different main traits.

Um, for example? Pisces are notably shy. However, Pisces II tend to be the most shy, and all-around loners. Another Pisces trait? Spiritual? Yes, it’s to be seen in all three decans, but Pisces I usually tends to be the most spiritual of the decans. Make sense? c:

I posted detailed posts a while back on the three decans and cusps, and clicking that link up there will show you the different posts. In the posts, you will find the different dates. c:

i love your blog =) i love that you celebrate PUBLICLY what so many pisceans celebrate PRIVATELY. anyway, i was wondering where you find the information on the specific birth days, and if you could possibly find the same info for a non-pisces birth day? thanks so much, so much gratitude. namaste.

Oh, thank you! Actually, that’s one of the reasons I really wanted to start this blog. c: I think it’s important to publicly celebrate ourselves; especially since Pisces have a bad habit of seeing a lot of negative traits in themselves.

I was using a book, actually. It was a giant book on birthdays, and I wrote up the different birthdays for Pisces; however, it does have each birth date you could possibly want. I borrowed it from a friend of mine, but it was The Secret Language of Birthdays, by Gary Goldschneider. He’s done quite a few books, but I’m unsure if there’s any other way to get ahold of the information. Here’s a list of his books. Maybe you can find it online? Good luck finding what you’re looking for. Namaste.
