A “Pisces Sun and Gemini Rising” is an individual who has their Sun Sign in Pisces, meaning they were born between February 19/20 - March 20, but their Rising Sign is in Gemini. Rising/Ascendant Signs are calculated by the time of your birth, and if you’d like to read more about them, click here.

A life higher and more rewarding than normal existence."

Well, I am inclined to think Pisces would rather have the sort of life which is easy-going, in which they could act to their hearts content. And I do think that the way (Western Society) has structured life is very unappealing to Pisces. I’ve often heard that “this world is not meant for Pisces,” and it’s largely in reference to our unearthly nature. However, I do think our approach tends to be so incredibly abstract, that the idea of structured routine seems quite dull. I think many Pisces often, and unfortunately, allow themselves to become overrun with what is expected of them. I mean, I think the safest way to be successful is to follow that life style— school, college, job, marriage, etc. And I think many Pisces perhaps lose themselves in this, especially their artistic nature. I do think there is perhaps a compromise that exists, but I have yet to find it.

But ultimately, I do think it is Pisces inclination to resist “normal living.” Do we tend to just float through life, though? I’m inclined to think Pisces lose faith in themselves, or lose confidence, and end up trying to fit into  this “expected, normal living."

Haha, yes, I’ve already written up descriptions for Pisces with all the rising signs. c: They’re sitting in my queue, and will be published over the course of today.

"The Ascendant (or rising sign) is often considered the mask one wears when meeting others. Perhaps it is most aptly thought of as the automatic responses to one’s environment. The Ascendant shows our natural defenses and how we cope with day-to-day issues. The energies of the sign and condition of the Ascendant are most overt and obvious to others. The Ascendant shows an individual’s first, natural reaction to new people and situations."

No, I don’t think that the ascendant means more than your sun sign— or as you said, “the actual zodiac sign.” I do believe the ascendant plays a factor in compatibility, but I think the sun sign keeps everything “in check.” Even to individuals who feel as though their ascendant or moon sign overpowers their sun sign, I still feel as though their sun somehow influences their overall character.

Some people I do think will tell you if a moon is in a water sign, and the sun is not, perhaps it will play a larger role occasionally. I’m ambivalent as to what I think about that— but I can’t argue that there are people who definitely identify more with their moon or ascendant more than their sun. I still believe if that’s the case, their sun sign still keeps the rest of the chart “in line."
