… Why The Feet?
So, I was falling asleep a few nights ago, and I was thinking about Pisces. And feet. For anyone new to astrology reading this, no I don’t have some sort of awkward foot fetish. Each sign rules over a body part— Pisces rules the feet. Now, I’ve always kind of been a little dissatisfied with that. I mean, look at the other water signs— Cancer and Scorpio. Their ruling body parts are the breasts/stomach, and the genital organs. Now, of course my interpretation here is up for debate… but:
Both Cancer & Scorpio rule over body parts that are stereotypically maternal. Okay, okay, you can argue with me that Scorpio— being the genital organs— is rather gender flexible. In regards to that, I’d like to say this: firstly, Scorpio is a feminine sign. Secondly, being a sex organ, and sex is associated with reproduction… and well, if you look to mythological gods, it’s normally a godess that represents fertility and reproduction. So, I think it’s understandable if I argue that both Cancer & Scorpio have maternal, feminine body parts. The breasts/stomach/genital organs are all parts of childbirth, and then Pisces… is the feet. Um, it almost seems out of place next to Cancer and Scorpio?
Anyways. Then I started thinking about how the feet essentially ground a person. Like, in the literal sense? Our feet bind us to earth. Which seems like the polar opposite to Pisces! The idealistic, unstructured Pisces.
But I know the literal, most obvious explanation: if Aries is ruler of the face, and also the “start of the soul’s journey…” it simply ends with Pisces, in the feet. The soul travels through each zodiac sign, through the circle, through each body part. The body is like a linear representation of what the circle zodiac wheel shows us.
Now, I might lose you here… but, I was thinking about how the crown chakra is usually drawn outside, above the body. And how the crown chakra represents a type of enlightenment. Can I therefore say “true enlightenment is outside the body?” And, perhaps, Pisces, being as far away from the head— from where the soul began (with Aries), it symbolizes the enlightened soul of Pisces?
I was just thinking, is all.

Physical Signs: Aries, Taurus, Gemini
Emotional Signs: Cancer, Leo, Virgo
Mental Signs: Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius
Spiritual Signs: Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces
I keep making references to this— the whole, “Physical vs Emotional vs Mental vs Spiritual” aspect. So, I just thought I’d get this on my blog, incase if you were wondering ‘what sign was considered what.'

The Ash
2/19 - 3/17: 28º00` Aquarius - 25º59` Pisces
[complete description]In general, all Ash individuals tend to have duality in their natures. On one side, they are artistic with an aura of vulnerability…on the other side, they are quite pragmatic. Being compassionate and sensitive, they understand the baser elements of humankind, as well as the spiritual aspect. The compassion of Ash individuals also extends to the animal kingdom and they have an innate ability to relieve suffering, both by physical nursing and the power of prayer. The faith of the Ash is rarely orthodox in a religious sense, but they are highly intuitive individuals, often possessing a strong deeper sense of spiritual matters. Ash people are highly adaptable and, despite a frail appearance, can recover from almost any emotional blow. On the negative side, theose governed by the Ash frequently experience trouble when handling the more mundane practicalities of everyday living. Often easily influenced by others, the Ash individual can be low on self-confidence and may become isolated.
Ash people have a creative genuis for making money but frequently fail to carry a project or idea through to its completion. As children, they require careful direction in order to learn how to use their talents to the fullest potential. Possessed of a somewhat mystical quality, Ash individuals are drawn to fantasy worlds. They adore the theater and movies, frequently blessed with beautiful singing voices although their preference is to work behind the scenes. They are also usually attracted to the ocean…or any other body of water…sometimes with fascination and sometimes with fear. There is no compromise for the vulnerable Ash individual where water is concerned…it will be one or the other. The career of the Ash person should never involve a routine which is too strict. The arts are a good choice but, because of the compassionate nature of these individuals, they are often drawn to the medical field and are good at organizing charitable functions.
Ash individuals are quick-witted, spontaneous and gregarious. They possess a lively curiosity and are intelligent, persuasive speakers. Being enthusiastic, inquisitive and communicative, Ash people love engaging in discussions about new ideas and projects. They are gentle individuals and, though easily hurt, are able to cope well with the negative in addition to the positive. They make for kind and considerate friends, ideal sweethearts and caring parents. Being romantics and dreamers, Ash individuals frequently appear to have one foot in the “Land of the Sidhe” and strive constantly to keep order in their lives. On the negative side, Ash people possess a nebulous quality which can lead to an inability to cope with the practicalities of everyday living. They are also easily influenced by others and have a hypersensitive nature which can undermine their self-confidence and ambitions. It is important for Ash people to focus their mental abilities or they are inclined to become nervous and irritable.
The Ash is the rough equivalent of Pisces in The Celtic Zodiac. Though the dates aren’t exactly the same, the description ought to fit for most who identify with Pisces. However, if you insist on looking at the end March dates not included in The Ash (March 18-20), click here.
So in an old book I had, it said my Rising would be Leo, but the calculator says Sag. I display both of these traits in abundance, especially after reading the match ups youve been posting. Is it possible that I am heavily influced by one of these signs somewhere else in my Chart. I have a detailed chart but reading it has been very confusing and difficult to follow

Well, I have to ask— what calculator? I do hope you didn’t use that chart I posted. I did note that it was inaccurate, and probably only helpful to those who only have a vague concept of the hour they were born. So, I hope you used a more exact calculator to determine Sagittarius. If you’re unsure, you could always run it with multiple calculators— I follow quite a few astrology blogs, and one posted a natal chart calculator that, for whatever reason, showed my birth as having a completely different chart. I like seeing what different sites have to say, but it was trying to tell me my Ascendant was in Sagittarius, which it’s not… it’s in Cancer. And, well, ever other natal chart calculator says my actual chart. If you’re unsure whether or not your Ascendant is in Leo or Sagittarius, I suggest running multiple calculators. Yeah. c:
ANYWAYS. Yes, it’s possible you have both these signs in your chart, of course. It could be one of the planets, or perhaps even one of the Twelve Houses. It can be difficult to understand what a natal chart is trying to say at first, and I think perhaps a site like astro.com provides good step-by-step lessons in deciphering astrology.

I made an Ascendant Chart. Personally, I think it’s most helpful to people who don’t know the exact time of their birth? So, like, people who debate between “Oh, was I born at around 10PM or 11PM?” I think this might help. I mean, a lot of people seem to think the Ascendant Sign is narrowed down to a specific hour, or half hour— and it’s not. So, I hope this provides some clarification?
If you’re a little unsure how to read it— here’s an example. I’m a Pisces, born at 12:32PM. So, looking at the 12PM-2PM, I go over to the Pisces Column, and see that it leads me to Cancer. And, indeed, my ascendant is Cancer!
edit: This chart isn’t completely accurate! Silly me, I only went through and double-checked Aries to see if the times lined up accurately. Use it if you’d like, but keep in mind that it’s very possible that it might be off. I still think it might be beneficial to people who don’t know the exact hour of their birth? I mean, if you are able to say, “Hey, my ascendant might be a Libra, Virgo, or Leo,” it’s certainly more information than you knew before? (That is, assuming you had no clue because online calculators require an exact time)
